Two gentlemen were driving up in a spring trap, when a train passing through the cutting below whistled. The horse shied into the bank, upsetting the trap and throwing its occupants into the road with considerable force. It then kicked an J plunged for a time, but was at length pacified. The trap was damaged, and the horse cut in several places, but the occupants escaped with only a shaking. A passenger, while trying to jump off a North-east Valley tramcar near the Gardens, got one of his arms, w y hich was in a sling, caught on a chain. He fell, and his hand went under a wheel, which cut it considerably. No bones were broken, although he was much bruised through being dragged along for some distance.
