A DISAPPEARANCE.

CHRISTCHURCH, February 15.

Fears are entertained that Dugakl Paterson, who should have appeared at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday on bail to answer a charge of obtaining £l2 10s from Alfred Butcher by false pretence, has made sway with himself. The last trace found of him was on Sunday morning, the 9th insC, when he left the Godley Head lighthouse, where he had accommodation for the night. There is no other habitation nearer than Sumner or Lyttelton, several miles of bleak hills with sea coast o neach side intervening, lha police nave been out searching the locality, but no trace so far has been found.
