The London metropolitan electric generating station will have a. minimum capacity of 7.000 h.p., and a mtiximmn of 100,000 h.p. The work will be begum immediately, and within two years from January 1, 1902. the old smoky tunnels will be whitened, ventilated, and served with an up-to-date service of electric trains. Mr Lyttelton, in bis report, says the manner in which the District Company conducted the preliminary negotiations was most embarrassing to' the Metrojiolitan Company, and fulfv justified the latter in clearing the matter up by arbitration.
