PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900. that on WEDNESDAY, the sth day of March, 1902, the Council of the City of Dunedin will, at its Meeting to be held at 7.30 p.m. on that day, confirm a SPECIAL RESOLUTION intended to operate as a Special Order adopted at a Special Meeting of the Council on the sth dnv of February, 1902, in the following terms —viz.; “ That it he resolved by way of Special Resolution to operate as a Special Order that the Draft now before the Council of a Street Expectorating Bylaw, 1802, be adopted and made as a by-law to be hereafter known as Bylaw No. 9; and that it be further resolved and declared that the said By-law shall come into force on the seventeenth (17th) day of March, 1902.” The object: and purport of the said By-law appears by the copy thereof set forth as follows ; BY-LAW No. 9. STREET EXPECTORATING BY-LAW, 1902. A By-law of the Council of the City of Dunedin, made in pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900. The City Council of Dunedin doth ordain as follows: 1. No person shall expectorate upon the footway of any street in the City of Dunedin. 2. In the interpretation of this Bydaw the words “ street ” and “ footway ” shall have the meanings given to them in sections 209 and 210 of the said Act. 3. Every person committing a breach of Ibis By-law shall for each offence be liable to a penalt ynot exceeding £5.
