DRAINAGE BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting of the Dunedin Drainage Board was held in the Town Hall last evening, and attended by Dr Brown (chairman), Messrs R. Glendining, J. Moloney, G. Simpson, J. Scott, J. Annand, J. H. Hancock, and T. K. Sidey, M.H.R, Leave of absence was granted to Mr J. Gore. Mr John C Ross, WarrnambooL wrote notifying his intention of applying for the position of engineer to the Board, and asked for a copy of the conditions of appointment.—To be informed that the information was contained in the advertisement, A number of letters were dealt with. The Works Committee recommended that no action be taken in extending the Frederick street sewer until the permanent scheme of sewerage was adopted and it was seen how far the present Frederick street drainage might l>e incorporated with the permanent system. The Board went into committee io consider the question of a drainage rate and the issuing of a special order. It was resolved to hold a special meeting next week to pass the necessary resolutions.
