THE CROPS. )ur Milton correspondent writes : —All ro»nd the crops in the Tokomairiro district tiu year are, ovfing to the splendid growing season experienced —there having been platy of heat a4d rain—much heavier than thde of 1901. [From present appearances hawest will be in at many farms in about ten days' time.) In the Milbura end of the Plain Mr ». Heads has particularly fine crops of oa ;s and wheat; Mr R. B. Paul, oats, whej;, and barley; and Messrs J and J. Sutherland have a crop of oats so heavy that i is lying on the ground. At the other en of the Plain those above tha average being to Mr E. Palmer, of Meadowbank,- ftr P. Maley, and Mr J. Tough; while i the Southbridge portion od the district Messrs William Robinson and Robert M 0 3 have very heavy crops. As to turnips, t e grub has been very bad in some places. The best crop of turnips in the district »t present- appears to bo that of Mr Jaies France, near Milburn, tke leaves haviig already met in a mass
acrojff the (drills. Garton oafrj which have bee/lately introduced, seem to;yield especially well.
