DUNEDIN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' PICNIC.

The above picnic was held at Waitati yesterday in a paddock lent by Mr Colehan, of the Saratoga Hotel. About 1,000 children and their friends availed themselves of the opportunity of a day in the country. Two trains left—one at nine and the other at 9.3o—both well laden with holidaymakers. The day was beautifully fine, and promptly on the arrival of the train she people scattered all over the banks of the Waitati, the majority, however, finding their way to the picirw ground, where the sporta were held. The return journey was made by two trains, leaving at 6.5 and 6.35, reaching town at seven and 7.30. The Industrial School Band was in attendance, and discoursed excellent music.
