Resolved, that the animal meeting btheld, early in, March, and a small committpe was set up to draft report and balan e sheet and arrange all details. It was not e I with gratification that in relation to b<.t'r» work and finance the last year had been thebest experienced in the history of the mission. The missionary reported that after i stimulating rest and change in. North Can terbury he had returned on January 17. and almost at once made it his business u\ see old friends amongst the poor, sick folk and suffering children, and had been on >!l hands cordially welcomed. Before leaving the City the missionary had the pleasure of distributing to several individuals and families Christmas cheer. Within the last few days he had received from a lady friend a parcel of clothing, etc., for distribution as he deemed best. On Monday, the 17th inst., the classes for Bible-reading in State schools at Hivj 1 ! street, Union street, Albany street, George street, and Arthur street will be resume.l. and, in view of large attendances, 1,800 attendance cards have just been printed. A,« an additional help in these classes 3,000 sheets of well-known children's hymns are also being specially printed. Through the pages of the 'Otago Daily Times,' the 'Evening Star,' ifae 'Witness,' and the ' Outlook' the missionary had explained that of the 500 Bibles which had been constantly in use in those classes for some years many were now torn and disfigured, and he had asked for at least 250 new ones. In a state of jubilation he >vported that to date he had received 34-1 copies of the Scriptures. It was, however, explained that included in this large number was a handsome grant from the Otagj Bible Society, through the chairman (M: William Brown). Both in Conterbury ani Otago the missionary had reluctantly de clined applications to conduct services., etc, and yet, in spite of these declinations, hj was able to assist at St. Paul's Sunday School, Christchurch; services at LeestoD, Brookside, and Dunsandel; South Dunedin Baptist S.S., Presbyterian Church; and Moniington Presbyterian Church and Sun day Sciool. Thanks are also due to many kind kelpeu at Russell street Mission HalL and to fresi volunteers who are willing to assist-
