THE MARVELLOUS GRAGGS
It is quite possible, nay, probable, that man began to play tricks on his body, 01 with his body, almost as soon as he realised that he had a body at ail. When and where everything was experimental we mav be quite sure that he experimented upon himself. What was there, indeed, which might not be done with his frame—this goodly body of his—these muscles, bones, sinews, nerves, all so obedient to the mind’* control —in a word, what extraordinary capabilities were there not in him? In these days, when physical culture holds sucn a prominent position in all schools and colleges, the appearance here of such >• famous troupe as “The Graggs” will be welcomed by all masters and students. To such an extent have “The Graggs” trained the muscles, the nerves, and the eyes, that for over twelve years they have been universally acknowledged as the leading acrobats of the world. ( They are London-born, their place of residence being in Kennington road, where they also have a private gymnasium- It is to this latter fact that they owe a good deal of their success. Thev originate all'their tricks, and having their own private gymnasium to practice in thw are able to perfect them and spring them >u not only the public but their fellow acrobats without any warning. “ The Graggs ” have performed in every city of note in the world, crowned heads have smiled on them, they possess orders and distinctions by the dozen, one of their most highly-prized souvenirs being a diamond star presented by King Eward at Sandringham some years ago, when they appeared there by command They will make their first appearance in New Zealand at the Princess’s Theatre on Thursday night.
