DR GUINNESS'S MISSION.

Another of the series of Bible readings was held in the Victoria Hall this afternoon, when, in spite of the wet weather, there w;us a good attendance. After to-day the afternoon meeting will be held in the main hall. This evening Dr Guinness addresses a meeting in the Agricultural Hall on Gospel subjects. Tho meetings will continue each night till the end of next week. Next Thursday and Friday evenings the doctor will give details of his mission work in two widely separato fields. On Thursday he will narrate his ' Experience* Amongst the Congo Natives,' and on Friday night he will speak on his ' Kxperienccs Among the People of the Andes and the Upper Waters of the Amazon.' The lectures should be extremely interesting, as the doctor is a Fellow of tho Geographical Society. They will, we understand, be illustrated bv views of the countries.

On Sunday next another of the afternoon addresses to men only on ' Social Purity' will be given, and free tickets for admission are being circulated extensively. Children's addresses will be given in the main hall on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons next week, and promise to be well attended, as groat interest is being taken in them. Mr It. Bligh, secretary to tho Australasian White Cross League.' will address a. meeting for boys on the subject of 'Social Purity' in a more modified form on Monday afternoon. Mr Biigh has already devoted eight years of his°life to this work, which has received, wo are told, great support in Australia, ■where he has been enabled to reach boys in all classes. It has been found, he says, tliat boys about, fifteen <irt> peculiarly receptive of teaching on these points, and more- than that., the. lectures arc said to do lasting good, for the boys observe the rules.
