THE DUKE'S MARRIAGE ROMANCE.

The British Royal House, though the fact is not very generally known, has its marriage romance. The G.O.M. of the Royal Family, the Duke of Cambridge, gave his hand and heart to an actress, Miss Louisa Fairbrother, an artiste of great ability and popularity in her 'day. Miss Fairbrother did not become a duchess, so that she was legally less fortunate than if she had been the wife of the possessor of a common dukedom. She lived as plain Mrs Fitz-Georgo, and the sons she bore the Duke have no place in the peerage. The two were husband and wife as far back as the Crimean War, and during the Duke's illness after the battle of Inkerman his yife went out to nurse him. it is said that the Duke never had a single reason t» regret.his choice. —The ' Young Woman' fq» John
