He claims no engagement on Easter Monday, but on the third day (Wednesday) lie is in the All-Aged Stakes, one mile, iu which ho will probably have to encounter the opposition of Maltster, Fulminate, and La Carabine or Paul Pry, and others, and he also claims engagement in the Cumberland Stakes, two miles. The son of Vanguard will have run in the A.J.C. Plate, three miles, on the concluding day of the meeting, and will probably have pitted against him his Champion Stakes opponents at Flemington—La Carabine, Paul Pry, and Clean Sweep, and possibly Maltster.

. The Massey-H arris-road, race, of twenty' two miles, took place at Mosgiel'on Saturday afternoon, when J. Gordon, with a'haudicap of lomin 30sec, was returned the winner, his actual time being lh smin. The other placed men were J. Hamann (12min) second, 0. Bush (17min) third, and C. Peakt (lOmin 15sec) fourth. The fastest time was put up by A. Sangstcr (55sec), who covered the distance in lh ssec. Messrs Begg, Crow, Bell, Long, J ago. Cole, and Minn kindly officiated as judges and timekeepers.

A Sydney cable gives the following as the result of the race for tlie Hawkesbury Autumn Handicap, of one mile and a-qua.r-ter, 100 govs : —Lygon 1, Bar One 2, Rebate) 3. Nine started. Betting :6to 4 against Khand, 12 to 1 Lygon. Won by a length. Time, 2min 16sec.
