VOLUNTEERING.
The B Battery are doing good work at their camp at Forbury Park. The weather has been very favorable, and the men have undergone a daily drill which should prove of maoh practical value. ' Reveille is sounded at five o'clock every morning, and parade takes place ha'f an hour later. Drill lasts till seven o'clock. All the operations take place in the Park grounds. Tomorrow next there will be a full mounted parade. The total number in cafip of all ranks is close upon eighty/ On Sunday afternoon the Dunediu Garrison Band will be present at the camp, and play several selection". The North Dunedin Riflea paraded at the Drill Hall, Water of Leith, on Wednesday evening for the monthly inspection. The parade state was as followd -.—Lieutenants Johnston and S'owley, 3 sergeants, 4 corporal*, and 45 privates; total, s<l. After inspection the company were matched out ana instructed in drill in extended order. On returning to the hall seven candidates for mefnbership presented themselves. The ballot resulted in four beirig elected. Lieutenant Johnston was elected to represent the company on the Council of the Otago Rifls Association.
