Presa Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. CONSTANTINOPLE, December 28. (Received December 29, at 9.24 a.m.) Three members of the British Embassy at Constantinople have been assaulted by some Turkish soldiers. While Mr M. E. De Bunsen (secretary of the Embassy), Colonel J. G. Ponsonby (military attache), and-Lieutenant Villiers were riding in the city they were set upon by the Turks on the pretext that they were trespassing near the powder magazine. These dragged Mr Bunsen from his horse, slashed Lieutenant Villiers across the face with a whip, and prodded Colonel Ponsonby in the ba6k~with a bayonet. Mr Bunsen has demanded from the Porte the punishment of the assailants and an apology from the officer commanding.
