An inquiry into the running of Lady Avon resulted in the rider (Sceats) and the mare being suspended for the rest of the meeting. Formula made the Visitors' Plate a one-horse race, as she led all tihe way, and paid £l2s. The Waitemata Handicap produced a dead heat between Reguma (6.12) and Defender (6.9).
