LAND BOARD.
The weekly, meeting of the Laud Board, held yesterday, was attended by the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr J. P. Maitland) and Commissioners Clark, Dallas, Doncan, and. Kirkpatrkk. Ranger O'Neill reported on section 38, block 6, Glenomacu.—Recommended fpr botification a*, capital' value "of 10s per acie; with valuation-tor' improvements £570 16s. . F; W. Plew having l»«3a' rent due upon license to occupy section 14, block 5, Lauder, np to 30th inst., the Board were requested to rescind the .resolution of the 23rd Maylast reducing the valuation allowed for improvements, and extend the license to olsfc December next.—Resolution reducing valuation rescinded, and present license extended to 21st December ■ next, - Section recommended fornotification at 15s per acre, valuation of impiwemente £345 4s 6d. ■ Tonkin and Co. applied to.bave position of reserve opposite .small-grazing 'run 225 c, Blacksto'ne, offered for sale by auction, as he desired to erect freezing works thereou. —The Board did "hot" see their way. to open the land in question ..for the purpose named. The Receiver, of Land Revenue reported that Andrew M'Dougall owed tiro rent ■ upon Jetty site license 1038, PembSiW— Licensee to be informed that if-arrears of rent are not paid within one month license will be cancelled. Assistant Ranger O'Neill reported on tie application by John Peterson to surrender his: lease in perpetuity section 4, block 6, Woodland.—Surrender accepted, section recommended for notification at 10s per acre, valuation for improvements £137 10s. Alexander . Chalmers applied t6 transfer section 22, block 9, and section 5, block 10. Kuriwao, -to Jane Chalmers.—Approved. J. Cox requested that the capital value of section 14, block 8, Catlins, be reduced to 5s pei^acre. —Referred to ranger for a report. The manager of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, on behalf of Edwatd Gray, asked if the Board would accept one year's rent upon section 15, block 13, Pomahaka Downs Estate, in the meantime.—The Board agreed to accept payment on account. The Receiver of Land Revenue reported that the following pastoral'licensees had nut paid rents due Ist March last:—James Bailey, run 428 ; Robert Wood, Crookston ; Robert Johnstone, Blackstone; R. S. F. Inder, Maniototo.—To be gassetted for forfeiture in terms of Act. . J. Callahan wrote in regard to area lying between section 12, block 3, Woodland, and the road round the lake.—Referred to Clutba County Council to say if any objection to the land being disposed of. G. A. Thomson applied to transfer section 52, block 1, Highlay, and section 5, block 7, town of Macraes, to F. C. Elson.—Approved. ' . Daniel O'Brien applied for an occupation lease, section 84, block 9, Maruwenua;— Lease granted at rental of 2s 6d per acre. Beatrice Mabel Inder applied for an occupation lease of 8 acres, part of section 23, block 4, Waipori.—Consideration deferred. The District Engineer of Public Works requested that the unsold sections in Pukeraro township be withheld from sale in the meantime.—Agreed to. .' . The Board were, requested .to authorise tue Receiver of Land Revenue to pay over to the persons entitled to receive the,, same the valuations for improvements upon the following; holdings:—Section 24; block" 6, Rankleburn, £1 Is; allotments 29; 37, and 41, Tokarahi Estate. £59 ss; allotment 93, Ardgowau Estate, £so.—Authorised accor- - dingly. The Secretary of Education requested that - section 1, block 4, Kuriwao, be pennariently reserved as u, school site.—Government recommended to reserve section for purpose named. Thomas Wilson applied to transfer smallgrazing runs.22oo and 220 d, Tiger Hill, to Arthur Wilson.— Approved. Neil Brown applied to be allowed to acquire on lea.se in perpetuitv portions of sections 11 and 12, block 2,' Upper Taieri.— Referred to warden for a report.
