SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.
At a special meeting of the Tahuna Park Trotting Club last night an explanation was asked by the New Zealand Trotting Aesociation as to the allegation that a steward who had backed Kimberley had urged that a protest be entered against Doubtful, winner of the Final Trot, and had voted when the matter was under consideration. lb was decided to forward the Afsociation the explanation of the steward in question. Mr VV. A. Scott, the rider of Doubtfnl, a<bed that the case be reopened, as he had frem evidence to bring. The club resolved that as the matter was in the hands of the Association they could not comply with the request, and suggested that Mr Scott should forward any fresh evidence he might have to Christchurch. If after hearing this the Association were of opinion that a ease for reopening was made out they could forward the evidence back to Dunedin.
