F. Harper, secretary for the Moke Creek Dredging Company, informs us that the companyhave been fortunate in securing at a reasonable figure Lvnch and party’s two claims on the Shotover, comprising eight acres in all. Bichca, of the Charlton Creek dredge.— ’Ensign.’ THE MAKSDEN LEAD SHARE TROUBLE. THE BROKERS EXONERATED. The Dunedin Stock Exchange have concluded their inquiry into the alleged irregularities in connection with dealings in Marsden Lead shares. The main question before the Exchange was that two brokers—membeis of the Exchange—interested in the Marsden Lead Company were concerned in outside transactions favorable to themselves by buying Marsden Leads whenever offered, knowing at the same time that the shareholders in the company wore "sitting tight” and withholding from the market all the shares. The obvious effect of such proceedings would bo to give the shares a spurious value by reason of the “speck” eel ers having to go to the bona fide holders and buy at their (the holders') prices in order to fulfil the contracts to sell which they had entered into. This charge was not sustained, and the two brokers against whom it was made were exonerated from all culpability. All contracts in these shares in the Dunedin Exchange have been'held to be good and have been completed. , THE SHARK MARKET.
