TRAMS AND ROADS.
TO THK EDITOR. ( Sir, —Now that the Roslyn Tramway Company will soon be running 'into the Kaikorai I should like to know how much longer James street is going to be left impassable, for pedestrians. Someone writing a short time ago stated that he had had three years' amusement in watching the progress of the line. Now, if he had lived in the Lower Kaikorai he would have had three 3 r ears' inconvenience, as well as amusement, not to speak of the state of his clothes, if he dared to travel by James street ; but, of courso, it pays the Roslyn Company, as one has to take the extension car, or risk breaking his neck in attempting James street. Other streets in the borough are put in repair; why not it? Is it to compel the people to take the extension that the councillors take no notice of the disgraceful state it is in?—l am, etc., Vkrt Mumvr. June 12.
