PERSONAL.
Mr William Henderson, building contractor, being about to leave on a trip to the Old Country, was the recipient of a presentation on Saturday. Mr J. IT. Walker, in making the presentation, which consisted of a travelling bag, a rug, and a gold watch and chain, 'referred to the high esteem in which Mr Henderson was held in the City, and trusted that his trip to the Old Country would prove a very pleasant one. Mr Broad (manager of the Dunedin Timber Company) and Mr Wilson (of Scott and Wilson) spoke to a similar effect, Mr Frank Scully, of the Postal Department, Auckland, who represents his fellowoilicers on the Post and Telegraph Appeal Board, was. entertained by the Dune-din Post and Telegraph staffs on Saturday night at a smoke concert, held in the Provincial Hotel, at which both branches of the department were well represented. A convivial evening having been spent, Mr Scully mentioned that he had been deputed to perform a very pleasing task in asking Mr John Henderson, of the Dunedin office, to accept from Messrs Bert, Brodic, and Co., of Auckland, a beautiful gold-mounted cigarette holder and case as a token of the esteem he was held in by the Auckland staff during his short sojourn amongst them.
