MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
At the weekly meeting of Lily of the Valley Lodge, 1.0.G.T, (C.T. Bro. W. Hey presiding), the visitors included Bro. Dalton (Grand Marshal), Sister Ralston (Grand Deputy-marshal), and a largely-attended fraternal visit from the Pioneer Lodge. A challenge to a debate was accepted from the secretary of Hope of Caversham Lodge, and it was resolved to pay a fraternal visit to the Alliance Lodge. Harmony was contributed by Bro. M'Connell (song), Sister Ralston (recitation), Bro. Dalton (song), Sister Riacli (recitation). Bro. Bush (song), Sister" Muir (song). Bro. D. C. Cameron (temperance reading), Sister Martin (song), Bro. W. Hey (pianoforte solo), and Bro. R. M’Kinlay (song). Bro. Dalton iG.M.), Bro. D. O. Cameron (acting C.T. Pioneer), Bro. Bush (Alliance), Dfo. Mockford (Hope of Dunedin), and Br6. Tily (Hope of Caversham) responded for the visitors. Bro. Dalton. G.M.. gave a short address on the good of the Order. At the weekly meeting of the Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge (P.C.T. Bro. D. C. Cameron presiding) reports were given by members of the Visiting Committee and other officers on tho sick and distressed of the lodge and Order. Two candidates were initiated. On resuming harmony was proceeded with, the following contributing: —Song, Sister Smith; recitation, Bro. Sims; song, Bro. Robertson: recitation. Sister Austin, jim.; song, Bro. Dalton; recitation. Sister Isa MacGregor ; song, Sister Dunn; reading. Bro. Grogan. A letter of sympathy was ordered to be sent to a young brother who had met with a severe accident. Bros. Yates (Hope of Caversham), Mockford (Hope of Dunedin), Lewis (Lily of Hie Valley), and Bain (Alliance) responded for the visitors.
