NATIVE SCHOOLS.

WELLINGTON, April 21. The Secretary of Education, who has been on a tour through the North Island, found the Natives very eager to get technical schools, and ready to support them. Three have been sanctioned so far—on the East Coast, in the King Country, and at Hokianga. The Wanganui Natives are too scattered, and a system of apprenticing will probably bo preferable for them. The working of the Native village schools, on the whole, Mr Hogbeu founl very commendable, and their influence decidedly good.
