D.J.C, AUTUMN MEETING

At a special meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club Committee, held la-st evening, it was decided not to interfere with the Trotting Club’s meeting on Thursday, 220 d, but to postpone the third day’s racing to Monday, 2Gth inst.

The President reported that he had interviewed tho officers of the Fourth Contingent, and they hud accepted the club’s invitation to atteud the races on Cup Day (Wednesday), 21st. The majority of the Contingent will attend with their horses, and go through certain drill at the course. It was resolved to also invite the members of the Fifth Contingent, Avho will travel by train. It was decided, Avith the approval of the Contingent, that a Hurdle Race of about one mile be added to tho first day’s programme ; the race to be open to Contingent hori.es only and ridden hy members in uniform, over four fl gi-.ts of hurdles; no weight under 12 0. Toe iffier of the Avinner is to receive a trophy. The whole profits on the race are lo go to the 'Fourth Contingent, to provide comforts ou t he voyage. The Committee, recognising the importance of this race, decided that it should start immediately after the Dunedin Cup, and that the officers of the Contingent should take control of and start it. Tho railway traffic manager notified that the department had agreed lo the timetable as submitted hy the club, a ! so to stop the 10.50 out train at the Cattle Yards. TAHUNA TROTTING MEETING.
