A U.S.S. Company’s steamer passed 01 ago Heads yesterday afternoon, bound north. The l.V.rinna arrived at Dunedin at !1 a.m, today. Sh- left Grevmtn hj at 8 p.m. on the 12th, c died at Westport, Tiiiiarn, and Oarnaru, leaving the latter port at 4 a-m. to-day, and arrived as above.
The scow Nca.ru has successfully discharged her two large boilers at the Cement Works, ami returns to Knipara the first favorable onnortunity. « The s.s. Undaunted commenced shipping oats (o' which she will take 4,000 sacks), at the export pier, Port Chalmers, yesterday. As noon as the 1 Star’ extra was received on the wharf, the harbormaster’s flag was hoisted, and in less than ten minutes afterwards there was a fine display of bnntmg.from all the ships in the harbor. The Naval Artillery, who break up camp to-day, fired a 21-gun salute from their 6-inch gun. Lieutenant-commander Allen made a patriotic speech, nod the proceedings altogether were of an enthusiastic character. The departure of (Tie Corinna has been postponed until Monday. The Mokoia, sailing for Melbourne, will not leave Port Chalmers till Monday afternoon. Tuesday's-express train will connect at the Bluff. The Tyser line steamer ludralema, having clischarged the balance of her cargo from New York, and taken-on board 2,1)00 sacks grain aud a quantity of bales of word, left the George street pier this morning for London via Wellington.
H.M.S. Diana, now conveying relief to the Australian sqnadron, recommissions the Mildura. Commander Leah, of the Mildura, takes the Diana Home. She is a twin-screw cruiser of 6,600 tons and 8,000 horse-power, and was launched in 1895. The Diana is a 19.5-kuot « T 1 rule, Sir Henry, which arrived here this morning from Greymouth with a load or sleepers for the ttailwjw Department, is consigned to Mr ,T. A. on the 14th inst. ; rounded Stephens Island at 6.63 , n.m., and reached Wellington 12.30 p.m.; left . sgriin at 5 p.m. on the 15th, and arrived ns above. The Mokoia has just completed a fast passage from Wellingto'n to Sydney and back, the run over • from wharf to wharf being accomplished in the ’ quick time of 3d 15h SOmin, and returning again in 3d 19h 57min. A most enjoyable dance was . held on the night of the 6th inst. and a concert on the 6th ran-to Sydney.
