D.J.C. COMMITTEE,

The monthly meeting of committee, held last evening, was attended by the Hon. G. M'Lean (in the cha.ir), Messrs Vigers, Thomson, Solomon, Hazlett, Myers, and Taggart. Apologies were received from Messrs Carr, Dawson, Miller, Coughlan, and Grindlev. In connection with the forthcoming Cup meeting in March it was decided to have one inside and two outside booths, one fruit stall and right to supply oysters ; that the catering for the grand stand luncheon boeth be again relet to Miss Murray, she having given entire satisfaction at previous meetings ; that bookmakers or tote bettors be not admitted to the course; that a band be engaged for the three days, the Band Committee to arrange same; that the races start each day at 12.30; that the two totalisators (inside and outside) be worked at £1 tickets, and that the machines be combined and one dividend paid, instead of, as formerly, paying separate dividends.

Mr J. Grindley was appointed starter for the balance of the racing season. It was reported that the sub-committee had interviewed the railway traffic manager with a view to having more carriage accommodation provided for the trains to and from the course, and suggested the advisability of reserving first cla.ss carriages for ladies o:\ the first two trains returning from the course after the last race. Mr Arthur promised to assist the club as much as possible in the manner indicated, and notified Ike sub-committee that he would shortly forward his reply in writing. The Works Committee reported that they ha.l decided to continue the fence in the straight on the main course round the corner tii_ the one anid a-half mile starting post, being a distance of seven chains. The president and Messrs Hazlett and Myerswere instructed to wait upon the Retailers' Association, asking them to observe, the usual half-holiday on Cup dav, 21st March.

It was reported that a further sale of building sites at Wingatui had been ma.de, and that, a number of loose boxes will be erected in time for the Cup meeting. Seventeen new members were elected, and several others proposed for next meeting. It was decided to vote J. Bamber and W. Higgins £5-each from the jockeys' fund account for injuries sustained while riding. A list of trainers' and jockeys' licenses issued since bust meeting was approved. The Secretary reported that the lines imposed on jockeys had been forwarded, in accordance with the rules, from the North Otago. Kurow, Gore, and Waikouaiti clubs. The Waikouaiti Club reported that T. Buddi-ct-mb. who wiiji fined at their last meeting, had not yet paid tho same, and it was decided that Buddicomb's license be suspended until the amount is paid. ROWING. The Otago Rowing Club have picked the following trews to row for the Ravensbourne Cvp : Nicholson (stroke). Howlison. Thomas, Grave; Crawford (stroke). A. G. Reid, Williams. Hodge ; P. J. The Cinistchurch regatta was held yesterday at Stewart's Gully, in fine weather. ( hristchurch Rowing Club won the. Senior Double Sculls, with Canterbury second; union Rowing Club, the Youths' Double Sculls; Canterbury Rowing Club, the Maiden Fours, with Star Boating Club second : Canterbury Rowing Club, the Junior Double-Sculls and the Senior Fours, with Wellington Rowing Club second in the latter. The Senior Pairs' Race was won bv Canterbury Rowing Club, with Wellington Rowing Club second. CYCLING PATRIOTIC SPORTS.
