The position, of the nurses is mule dear ihy the following resolution, canned to-day by the General Committee, on the motion of Mr Shields, seconded by Mr Fraser: “That, provided sufficient money be raised for tbe purpose, six qualified nurses be sent to South Africa under six months’ engagement to tho Committee, at a salary of 25s per week and passage- to and fro, subject to acceptance by the. Imperial Government and ratification by the New Zealand Government.”

Offers in kind are also numerous. The Mosgiel Woollen Company give every man a woven woollen cholera belt; tho necessary gaiters have been promised to Dr Conghtrev by a donor who does not wish his name to he disclosed; Messrs Morris and Seelyc offer tho use of the light, tarpaulin* wanted for ‘the camp ; a supply of headstalls is given by an anonymous donor whose heart is in the right place; Mr A. Anderson, of Victoria road, St. Kilda, has promised to lend a Mind si equipping the camp ; and Lieutenant Maclonuld, formerly of the North Otago Mounted Rifles, now of Bavensboumc, is willing to help in camp work when he can get Iwav.

The total enrolment up to 3 p.m. to-day fas 152 men. To these have to be added fix who this morning simply sent in written »ffers to serve ; and at the hack of all there ire the applications made beforehand to Colonel Webb. Verbally and by letter and personally, there must be about 250 offers ; kit if we only count the 152 who have filled ,n the forms as having really volunteered, the result is satisfactory.

The first applicant for the post of doctor tomes from a Dunedin native, Surgeon Neil, ion of Mr James Neil. Surgeon Neil is now tn the Auckland Hospital staff. Ho wants nr ho identified with the Otago corps. His tiler is under consideration. Lieutenant G. Btuiley, son of Colonel Baity, of Timarn, has offered his services, but ilie regulations stop him, .os he is only 18£ fears of age. The Organising Committee, acting on the recommendation of the Selection and Equipnent Committee, have unanimously appointed Captain Stromuch to command tho ■amp until such time a* a permanent officer is appointed. It is the intention of the Committee to idvertise a complete list, of kit and the piantities wanted, with the view of giving namifacturers and others generously disposed a chance to otfe- to supply the same trevions to calling for tenders. The Organising Committee request that ill donations raised after the date of the lepartnre of the Contingent he devoted to the Contingent Fund instead of to the Patriotic Fund. We must help ourselves irst. That is the idea.

Mr G. A. Ross has given his services its dork to tho Selection and Equipment Committee.

Captain Harvey (Balclutha) has accepted a teat on the same Committee, and at the same lime volunteered for tho front.

Surgeon-major Coughtrey and Lieutenant Train are a sub-committee to inquire as to the stock of kharki cloth in town, and the ;ost of the same.

Captain Stronach, Surgeon-major Conghtrey, and Lieutenant Brain visited Forbury Park this morning, and reported that the ground was favorable for the camp. It is almost certain that the Forbury will be chosen.
