UNIONISM AND POLITICS.

WELLINGTON, January 31. At a meeting o£ the Wellington Tiadei Council seventy delegates, representing thirteen unions, were present. A long discussion ensued on the question raised during the recent General Election of the expediency of unions taking an active part in elections, and after an animated discussion the meeting resolved that the executive officers of uniona should abstain from taking any activo part ia politics.
