This Company is being formed for the purpose of acquiring and working mining areas and in particular the 11 Amalgamated Sluicing Claims of the Duffers' Creek Gold Mining Company, Limited, including a special claim now under application, containing in all about 100 acres, situated on tho Duffers' Creek, just above its confluence with the Grey River. In applying to the Warden for the amalgamation of these claims, the Duffers' Creek Gold Mining CompaDy, Limited, stated that they had already expended £5,200, or thereabouts, in acquiring rights and prospecting the ground. The Duffers' Creek is the only outlet from the gullies on which some of the richest diggings on the West Coast are situated. The greater part of the bed of the creek is still in its virgin state, owing to its being too deep and wet to bo worked by tho early diggers. A large party cut a tail race to drain and enable them to work it, but they were swamped out. It is proposed to put a suitable up-to-date dredge on the claim. Grey Valley Coal can be delivered on the dredge at about 15s per ton. ,_, 15 - GILLIES < A.M.1.0.E., in his report on the property, states that the results oblamed from the workings of the Duffers' Creek Gold Mining Company, Limited form indisputable evidence as to the value of the ground. Measurements carefully taken by himself to verify former measurements showed that the Company treated 60 700 CUBIC YARDS FOR rt YIELD of £2,229 and Mr EDWARD ROBERTS, THE WELL-KNOWN CONSULTING ENGINEER, states in his report that the ground is VERY SUITABLE ££s o D SP?
