Mr J. Crawford Anderson, who unsuccessfully contested the Bruce seat in the Ministerial interest, was last night presented at Stirling with a pnrse of sovereigns, and Mrs Anderson was the recipient of a gold brooch set with diamonds.

Mr J. A. Wilkinson {of Messrs J. and A. Wilkinson, King street), who intends visiting Great Britain, was presented by the employes of the firm with a handsome Mosgiel rug last evening. Mr J. Duncan, who acted as spokesman, referred to the kindness shown by the firm to-the employes, and also to the harmony existing between them.
