RUN TO EARTH.
AUCKLAND, January 8. K. G. Daley, the bankrupt for who3e arrest his creditors offered a reward of £2OO, has been arrested near Holensville, and was brought to town to-day charged with absconding. Constable Kelly, of iHelensville, received information concerning Daley from a lettler of Kaokapakapa, and with Constable Williams effected his arrest after an hour and a-half search in the bush at Makarau. Williams detected footprints, and on followiog them found Daley reading tho « Auckland B>tar. Daley recognised Kelly and his mission, and said he was quite prepared to go with him. When the case was before the Court Mr Napier, solicitor for the prosecution, said he had witnesses who had seen Daley in possession of 1,950 sovereigns. He understood that there was another 3,000 somewhere. He objeoted to Jbail. The Bench fixed bail in accuseds, own recoeniBunce for £I,OOO, and two sureties of £SOO eich.
