Sir John Forrest, who is visiting Sydney, on being interviewed re Federation, said that unless Wcstralia, the concessions demaiidcd in the Commonwealth Bill there was little prospect of her joining. Tersonally ho was desirous of Feeing a Federal Government for Australia. He took a philosophical view upon the separation movement now being agitated in the goldfields districts.
