SALE OF EAST COAST LANDS. \ An important land sale was held at Gisborne on Saturday by Messrs Williams and Kettle, on behalf of the trustee in Wi Pere's estate and other clients. About fiOO acres of the M;ikauri Block, including some of the richest of the Poverty Bay fiats, were sold at £24 to £25 and £26 per acre. Several fancy sections in the Waerengnhika township brought £315 10s, £4O, and £75 per acre. Twenty thousand acres of first-class pastoral land at Mangatu. twenty-five miles from Gisborne, subdivided into suitable areas of from 1,000 to 3,o(lo.acres, were offered on lease for twenty-one vcars, with an allowance for improvements and the right of renews], and sold at prices ranging from 8J to Is 2d p?r acre per annum. The prospectus of the Horseshoe Bend Gold Dredging Company is published in this issue. The claim is situated immediately below Ihe entrance of the Shotover River, and is one of the group of Wakatipu claims up 'ii which the early type of dredge was placed in 18:10, with (as has been the invariable experience both on the Kawarau and Molyneux Rivers where small dredges have been at work) only disappointment and temporary failure.
