Rosltn.—The monthly meeting of the Roslyn Borough Council, held Nst eve. i 'g, w«8 presided over by Mayor Watson, Crs Mutheson, J. Wilson, R. C. Wilson, Kemui z, Sutherland, Phflp, Hunter, Wedd<rspooD, Sim, Drew, and Davie being also present.—The Works Committee recommended that in consequence of Mr J. E'lis, ! the contractor for the removal of ashes and riightsoit, not carrying out his agreement, the contract with him be at once determined, and fresh tenders invited for the work, tenders to be opened in a week from the 20th inst. Adopted.—The ratepayers sent in a protest against the Council makiDg a depot for depositing ashes and rubbish from the district on Mr Hessian's section in King street, and requested that steps at once be taicen to put a stop to the nuisance, lb was decided to instruct the contractor to tip rubbish only in places authorised by the Council. —Or Hunter moved—- " That the meeting night of the Council be changed from the third Friday to the third Monday in the month," The motion waß carried by one vote, and Cr Wilson gave notice of motion to rescind it.
