Judgment has been reserved in (ho Appeal Court in. Mills v, Rogers and Sinclair, arising out of the Blenheim libel actions. The ‘ Bratske Sioga,’ just issued in Auoki and, is the first newspaper published in the Colony in the Croatian language. It is intemleu to caler for the iiuineious Austrians in the Auckland province.. Bishop Grimes has just concluded a mission at Greymouth, where he has collected over £650 in aid of the Christchurch Cathedral fund.
The weekly meeting of the Hope of Caversham Lodge, 1.0.6. T., which took place on Friday. was Avell attended. Two candidates were initiated, and one former member was readmitted into the Order. After recess ah interesting programme was gone through, including speeches on ‘Why Am I-a. Good Templar?’ by Sis. F. Thom, Bros. Stubbs, E. South, and Thara; and songs by Sisters Thorn, P. Thorn, Jackson, and Dun, and Bios. Blackie, and Stubbs. The various items were greatly appreciated, Sis. Jackson receiving a hearty encore. The usual votes of thanks to the visitors present from the Alliance and Lily of the Valley Lodges, brought to an end a very pleasant and enjoyable evening.
