AUCKLAND, May 15 Captain Russell, M.H.R., met a deputation from the Auddand-Taranaki Railway League this morning. He was asked whether he would support a Bill to connect Auckland and Taranaki by railway over the Stratford route in preference to the central route. Captain Russell said he could not give an opinion as to which was the better route, but would support that route which was proved to be the best in the interests of the colony.
