NEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The fortnightly mealing nf the Star of Freedom Lodge, LO.G.T., was held on Wednesday evening, Bro. Freeman, G.T., pretiding. Several visitors from sister lodges present. The installation of the noaly-eleetcd officers took place, Bro. Randall, L.D., otE-Jating, assisted by Sis. Austin as I. marshal and Bro. Uur (All Nations) a&D.I. marshal. Bro. Whale gave a iepmt as to' the progress of the sale of work, the lodge voting unanimously their assistance and approval. The newly-elected CT. (Bro. J. W. Parkinson) then appointed the Sick, Visiting, and Room Committees, after which the lodge adjourned for harmony, the following contributing -.—Bros. Freeman, Scoullar, Park, Wilkinson, and Binnie, tnd Sis. Dewhim (songs), Bro. Whale (reading, Shakespeare), Sis. Freeman (piano solo). Votes of thanks to tho visitors were responded to by Bro. Sindilands (Star of Roslyu), Bro. Marr (All Nations), Bro. Davies (Hope of Dunedin), Sis. Austin (Lily of the Valley), and Sis. Austin, jun. (Crystal Spring Temple). Hope of Dunedin Lodge, I 0 G.T., held t eir weekly meeting in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Rattray street, last night, C.T. Bro. Gillam presiding. There was a good attendance of members and vi-sitora from sister lodges. Two candidates were initiated. An official visit was received and heartily welcomed from the District Lodge officers, whereupon the C.T. vacated the chair in favor of D D.G.C.T. Bro. Don. Cameron, The lodge subsequently went into harmony, Sis. Smith contributing a pianoforte sole, and Bros. Stubbs (encored), Binnie, Austin, and Freeman songs. The vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to by Bros. Don. Cameron, D.D.G.G.T., R M’Kiulay, P.D.D., and R. Clark, D.E S (District Lodge), Bro. Freeman (P.G.T. Star of Freedom), Bro. Pitcher (P.G.T. Alliance), Bro. Sandilands (C.T. Star of Roslyn), and Bro. Grogan (Pioneer). The fortnightly meeting of Ruth Rebekah Lodge, I 0.0. F., was held on Thursday in the Albany street Hall, N G. Sis, Hemsley presiding. Three candidates were initiated. During recess harmony was provided by S’sters A. and L. Kavanugh and L. Clarkson giving songs, Sis. L. Bremner a recitation, and Sis. F. Williams a piano bolo,
