THE WEATHER.
Mr Paulin advised us at three o’clock this afternoon “ Squally to agls SW. to S.E. winds, and cold rain showers; stormy and cold.”
A Christchurch message says that he weather still continues very roegb, end to-day rain and ha 1 s! owe s have fallen incessantly. A bitterly cold and strong S.W. wind is blowing.' The Christchurch Racing Club’s meeting his again been postponed ti l Wednerday nu , and all football matches are declared off.
After an exceptionally fine autumn at Wellington winter has arrived in earnest. Rain has fallen every day but one this mouth, the total, being 4n, and it is now very cold, with tharp southerly showers of hail and strong winds.
