JUNIOR FOOTBALL IN DUNEDIN.

TO TBS KDITOB. Sib, —After reading jour report in last nigftt'd ' Star J of tho O.ago Rugby Duiou'd meeting, I was rather surprised to see that t&e members had decided to establish three grades in the coming contest, as follow j—fl) Senior grade, comprising the first fifteens of senior clulw; (2) junior grade, comprising the first fifteens of junior clubs (exclusive of the High School Clab); (3) second grade, comprising the second fifteens of ssnior clubs and the first fifteen of the High School Club. I, for one, cannot see where the need for %h\a role eomes in. Why cannot they allow the junior clubs to continue to play as heretofore? This rule will only allow the juniors about ten matches for the season, tad also cirtails the second fifteens' list of matches. The High School Ciub, however, Ere admitted to the grade numbered 3, as they are not physically fit to play junior crabs. I see no reason why junior fifteens should be thought to' be any rougher than the second fifteens of seniors, or any ■tronger, unless by. good play and combination. I hope the jun<ors will try to get this faw altered, and J pl*y What matches they [&n at present. I don't see why the should be thus favored.—l am, Btd, Gbubbeb. ' Donedin, April 11.
