VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The Dunedin Rifles (Burt'a corps) fired the Becond competition for the challenge cap oa Saturday. The following are the highest score* (conditions, ten shots at 200 and 500 yardß):—Private M'Gregor, 86,10 points; Private Davys, 71, soratch; Lancecorporal Poole, 75, 9 points; Lieutenant Willis, 62, scratch; Sergeant Jackson, 62, scratch j Sergeant Hay, 62, scratch. The second class shots also fired the final for the gold medal, which was won by Lance-corporal Poole, *%he conditions being seven shots at 200 and 600 yards. Soores: —Lance-corporal Poole, scratch, 66 (winner's grand total, 115 points)} Private Morrison, 5 points, £& (second's total, 09) j Ptjjk vate Harty, 5 points, 41 (third's total, VJff Private Smmonds, 4 points, 37 (fourth's total, 94). Mr W. W. Wabters has resigned his commission m lientenant in the Bruce Rifles.
