Moeningtov.—At Wednesday's meeting an offer from thirteen ratepayers to contribute £l2los, if the Council would undertake the formation of Brunei street, including a rough footpath, was referred to the Works Committee to meet and discuss the matter with the petitioners.—A letter was read from Mrs J. Whelan objecting to the proposed extension of Bath street through her property, but expressing her readiness to arrange amicably as to compensation for the land proposed to be taken. Mrs Whelan to be offered the amount of compensation fixed by the assessor.—The Works Committee recommended inter alia that tenders be called to finish the roads in Mollison's* sub-division, as agreed by the Council. That 60ft of 4m pipes be laid in the water channel, Clyde avenue, at the back of Mr Fauld's property, to improve the drain.
