FIRES.
NAPIER, April 6.
A fire broke out at Mr A. E. Bagleton’s tobacconist shop shortly after four o’clock this morning. 'The premises were gutted and the whole of the stock destroyed. Insurances : Oc the building, owned by Mr J. Dinwiddle, £6OO in the New Zealand; on the stock, £3OO in the Phoenix. The fire is Supposed to have been caused by rats getting to the matches. An outbreak from this cause occurred about a fortnight since. WELLINGTON, April 6.
A six-roomed house, owned and oobnpied by Mr W. Smith, Rentoul street, was partly bamed ont early this morning. The Insurances are £6OO.
