PERSONAL.

Mr Justice Williams is due at Port Chalmers to-morrow morning.

At a meeting of the Broad Bay School Committee last night, it was decided to recommend Miss Evans, of Springvale, Alexandra South, for the position of headteacher.

At a special meeting of the teachers of the North-east Valley Presbyterian Church last evening Miss Bella Henderson, on the occasion of her marriage, was presented by the teachers with a very handsome present, consisting of a case of one dozen silver teaspoons, and a beautiful glass cake dish. Mr D. MTvor responded in place of Miss Henderson, and thanked the teachers for their present, and as superintendent of the Sunday school he spoke very highly of the services rendered by Miss Henderson as teacher. In making the presentation Mr Borne also bore testimony to Miss Henderson as a teacher, especially! he stated, as she was not a member of the N. B. Valley Presbyterian Church, but was a member of Chalmers Church. He stated that Miss Henderson had risen from class to class in the Sunday school, and from the highest class to the position of teacher, and hoped that marriage would not separate her from the teaching staff. Mr W. Pryor, teacher of the Bible? class, wished Miss Henderson in her marital life long life, health, and prosperity. Refreshments were handed round, and an enjoyable evening was spent by all present. Mr A. E. Remington is again out for the Patea seat in opposition to Mr G. Hutchison, M.H.R., and has begun the campaign.
