Mr Chamberlain has introduced into the House of Commons a Workmen’s Homes Purchase Bill. The measure proyides for piaking advances to workmen to enable them to securq the freeholds of their homes. The local authority is empowered to advance up to £240 on a pouse worth £3OO, the loan to bear a nominal rate ofihterest.
