The case against Timothy Tray, of Auckland, charged with ringing in a dog at the recent meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Coursing Club, occupied all yesterday afternoon. Accused was found not guilty. INVERCARGILL. In the cattle-stealing case against H. and H. Nicholls (father and son) the wife of t u u elder accused was again brought into court, and explained that she had made a mistake of a week in regard to some matter, and, being afraid to acknowledge it, had refused to reply to a question put by the Crown Prosecutor. No contempt of court was intended. The explanation was accepted, and the witness set at liberty.
