THE CRICKET UMPIRES ASSOCIATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—The move to fcrm a Cricket Umpires*' Associaton may or may not be a good one, but if formed, as I believe it will be, it would be well that the right men should be members of it, because they will naturally have the control of the game under the Ocago Cricket Association. Cricketers have now learned the meaning of boing "umpired'' out, and have no desire that form of leaving the crease should happen often. I would, therefore, suggest that some of our old cricketers should take a leading part in the Umpires' Association. I thiuk that Messrs A. Glen, C. Frith, and W. J. Moore, for example, might bo asked to join. Further, if steady use be made of the services of the members of the Association, there ought to be some way of remunerating them.—l am, etc, COCXTRYMAX. Dunedin, October 27.
