‘The Times’ states that the Cabinet endorsed Lord Salisbury’s policy with regard to Fashoda. The ‘Standard 1 states that the British Government have decided to show Major Marohand every hospitality and not deport him from Fashoda) but simply disregard his presence, and not permit him to obtain munitions of war.

CAPE TOWN, October . 28. In tho Cape Parliament Herr Schreiner stated that communications had been exchanged with tho Imperial authorities relative to the steps to be taken in the event of war with a European Power, He was informed it was not necessary at present to mobilise the forces.
