HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The ordinary meeting of tho Hospital Trustees was held yesterday afternoon, and attended by Messrs P. Miller (chairman), J. Green, H. Clark, J. Robiu, J. Carroll, W. Wright, and J. N. Brown. The House Committee reported that Nurse French had resigned, owing to her having received an appointment at the Waipukarau Hospital. Misses Laruaoh and M'Arthur and Mrs Ft lon had been appointed probitiouary nurses. The walls, ceiling, etc., of Miller ward had been repainted . —Adopted. The Finance Committee reported that accounts and salaries amounting to £652 6i 7d had been passed for payment. The receipts for July were £lO3 3* 21, and for August up to date £7G Cb 10J. Tho bank pass bock showed a credit balance of £O4 13s lid, and therewascashinhandamounting to£7 17s 4d. The balance-sheet had been returned by the Auditor-General as correct. The sum of £5 had been found in the subscription box with a note signed "H.E.," askiug that the amount be used for the maternity ward. Application had been made to the Government for the subsidy duo up to the 31st March for £297 19i Id and to the Charitable Aid Board for the usual monthly contribu tion of £450.
The Chairman pointed out that through the subscription box not having been opened since April last "HEV donation of £5 had not been acknowledged before, as requested. The report was adopted. Mr H. 0 Catter, on behalf of tho Mellin's Emulsion Company, of London, wrote offering a large stock of their preparations to the hospital—Received with thanks. Upon the recommendation of Messrs Mason and Wales the final payment of £lB 19s was given to Mr Lyders on account of the new kitchen, and a progress payment of £4OO was granted to the contractor for the children's ward.
