A complaint was recently made to the Hawera School Committee that a juaur teacher, after excessively punishing a.girl, took a piece of mirror, and, holding it before her, said : " That's what you look like when you are crying, you ugly little dog." The teacher admitted having held the mirror before the girl, and told her to " see what a sulky girl you look," or words to that effect, but denied having called her an uglv little dog. The Committee deprecated the* use of the mirror, and cautioned the teacher accordingly. The man Williams arrested in connection with robbing the Stratford Post. Office has been committed for trial on three charges,
