FOOTBALLERS IN TROUBLE

1 A SERIOUS ACCUSATION.

[Special to the Star.]

WELLINGTON, August 12. The charges brought against a Dunedin and two Wellington: players of the Net? Zealand team aro alleged to be of a grave nature, and if proved will involve suspen. sioa of the offenders, probably for some years. In any case Wellington is almost certain to b»s deprived of the services of her two New Zealand representatives in the mutch against Aiiokland. The loss will be a seriou9 one, as the offenders are the best exponents of their respective departments in the Wellington province. As the inquiry has been adjourned to Friday week it will almost be too late for these players to take part in the match, even if the" oharges are disproved.

The Dunedin player reported was W, Harris, of the Union Club.
