The annual social in connection with the Primitive Methodist Church was held in the Drillshed, Sandymount, on Friday. There was a good attendance. Mr J. Balaille presided. Solos were given by Miss A. Rawley and Mr Ibbotson, recitations by Miss G. Mayhew, violin solos by Mr Austin, and an instrumental solo by Mr H. Black. The ministers of the circuit spoke. The Rev. Mr Laycock said it was about nine years since the Methodists commenced holding services on the Peninsula, and they had been productive Qf much good. Refreshments were handed rounded in great I abundance, being prepared by the ladies who are in sympathy with the church.
